Helen and Jonathan work therapeutically with adults, adolescents and couples experiencing a broad range of problems, with particular expertise in: depression and anxiety, trauma, abuse and post-traumatic stress, complex trauma, substance use, relationships, complex issues and risk, and a range of sexual orientations and gender-related issues. Helen also specialises in women’s health issues.

We are an LGBTIQA+ friendly clinic, and Jonathan provides Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments for people aged 13 and older.

Our initial therapeutic approach is to understand what has led you to come and talk with us and what it is that you are looking for in your therapy, alongside forming a therapeutic relationship with you that supports you through the process. We work psychoanalytically – more information about our therapeutic approach can be found in the section, ‘Our Approach to Treatment’, below.

We also provide supervision to psychologists and other health professionals undertaking clinical work, and offer psychoanalysis for people seeking an analysis.

Psychological Treatment

jonathan office 3

We undertake psychological treatment with adults, adolescents and couples experiencing a broad range of difficulties. We work with people experiencing:

We have particular expertise in working with depression and anxiety, trauma, abuse and post-traumatic stress, complex trauma, substance use, relationships, complex issues and risk, as well as with a range of sexual orientations and gender-related issues. We are experienced in working with people in relation to gender transition and as they undertake gender-affirming treatments, and are a LGBTIQA+ friendly clinic. Helen also specialises in working with women’s health issues.

Our Approach to Treatment

We provide a confidential and non-judgmental space in which you can discuss your concerns, and we can discuss with you the best way to work together.

We practice psychoanalytically, which is an approach that can assist in a number of different ways. Some of the ways in which it can help are working through the problems that you are experiencing, as well as assisting you to overcome what gets in the way of you pursuing what you want in your life. It can also be a way of developing new ways of relating to others, and how you feel about yourself, and a way of examining key questions that you have. All these can, in turn, open up new possibilities in your life. People often find that engaging in talking about what is troubling them starts to help them in their own unique way, which becomes apparent as their therapy progresses.

Our approach is to work with you at your pace as your treatment unfolds over time. We also provide psychoanalysis for those seeking an analysis.

Jonathan provides Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments for people aged 13 and older. For further information about what is involved in an ADHD and/or ASD assessment, please contact Jonathan directly via phone or email.
